My Midnight Creeps

Now, that sounded like a cool record, Candy! Classic rock music if ever I've heard it! But You're not going to see Dolly tomorrow? I guess You would've looked cute wearing one of those pink merchandise cowboy hats they're going to sell....

Well, Butterfly, pink is not exactly my favorite colour, but I guess I would be pretty cute in one of those hats... Unfortunately I am not going to see Dolly, so the world -and You will miss out on that sight this time...

Besides, I think Dolly is the queen of cowboyhats...

Aah - I knew that a rock'n'roll-girl like You would prefer other colors to pink, C, I'm guessing black (leather and lace, huh?).... But still, too bad You're not going tonight, Candy. And btw, I'm not really a butterfly, even if I've always found it difficult not to turn my head if a longlegged girl who really fills her jeans should walk by..

I'm not all rockgirl, I enjoy music from other categories as well. But none of those gives me that great feeling I get when I listen to good rock 'n roll...

I've just bought a daffodil which is blooming right now, and I really enjoy the yellow colour. So You see, Cowboy, I like other colours too, though black is my favourite, You were right about that. I also like flowers, the wildflowers are my favourites. Have You heard former Norwegian band Span's song "Wildflower"?

Oh, and by the way, in Norwegian we talk about "the flower and the bee" so You can understand my confusion when a butterfly suddenly came along. A quick search at W made me realize that Your phrase "the birds and the bees" is expanded to "the birds, the bees and the butterflies" or "the birds, the bees, the flowers and the trees." I guess I'm a bit old-fashioned...

Well, C, daffodils are in season now as Easter is fast approaching. They're beautiful, and one of my mother's favorites. She actually met my father while she worked at the local flower store as a teenage girl, and my father was the store's delivery boy...

The butterfly expression however, isn't an American expression, Candy. As I told Mr Sailor it's a Thai expression that likens men who "fly" from girl to girl to butterflies who flies from flower to flower...

Now - I guess You'd be a real wildflower C, if You were a flower, that is...

The story of Your parents' first meeting sounds really romantic, C. I found myself smiling when I read it. You should write a post about it someday.

Back to the butterflies. I was not claiming the butterfly expression to be American. I was only making bad jokes about butterflies, reproduction and stuff. Haha, now I see the way You must have read it. I'm sorry, Cowboy, sometimes I think more than I write, and my clumsy English did not help eighter I guess...

I'll try once more. When I grew up I was told a pretty simple story about flowers and bees. (The Norwegian phrase "blomsten og bien) Even though I knew before I met my first butterfly that life is a bit more complicated than the flower and the bee story I was kind of taken by suprise when he went on flying again. I therefore found it quite fascinating to read that the phrase which is equivalent to "blomsten og bien" in English, "the bird and the bee" actually is expanded to contain flowers, trees and butterflies as well as birds and bees. If I only knew that when I met my first butterfly...

So You're not a butterfly after all, huh? Well, I have told You before that I trust You to be a true gentleman, Stranger. And I can't go back on my word, can I?
